Life quotes

Now, we are not talking about great words regarding life from the famous or infamous!  No sorry, it's not a very exciting subject - but it is important to get life cover to protect your dependents.  Having got the life cover sorted, can give you a feeling of having covered all eventualities.

At what stage of life do you need to get life insurance quotes?

Single but with aging parent

If you are single with out a partner or children you may think you don't need any life quotes.  If you parents are still alive, you should consider what would happen to them if you die.  You won't be around to help them out when they might be surviving on a state pension or even if they have additional savings and pensions, life as a pensioner is not that easy except for the very wealthy.  For this type of coverage, straight term life insurance  is probably the cheapest and simplest policy to purchase.

In business or partnership

Your business may not survive if you die.  Your family might be depending on that business or your family may even work with you in the business, so getting life cover quotes for yourself may ensure business continuation.  It is not unusual for partners to take out life insurance to assist the other partner continue with the business - any payment could be used to pay for some temporary managenent/executive help buying time, whilst they sort out the day to day running of the business.

Newly married

As newly weds, you are probably looking at getting your first home together.  With that joy comes the mortgage.  Whilst you are both well and working, it might still be a challenge to meet the mortgage payment - how would only one of you cope with that expense?  Help  your partner stay in the house you both love by getting a quote for life insurance now.

New parents

As new parents, you not only have to provide for your partner, but also the new addition to the family.  Your partner may give up their job to look after the child, so the family is now very much dependant on your income.  It's not difficult to see why you need to get some life quotes!

Established families

With your growing family comes growing expenses.   According to a recent article in the Guardian - raising a single child could cost you over 200 thousand pounds by age 21 - you could buy a house for that!  And that's without school fees.   Multiply that by the average 2.5 children and it makes the cost of life insurance seem cheap.  That number might start to give you a guide as to how much life insurance you may need - get a life quote and see how much covering the average child is going to cost you.

Retired

Most people who have reached retirement age think that they no longer need life insurance; that they could save money by cancelling any existing policies.

But hold on - consider do you have a mortgage that still has time to run?  Could your partner continue to pay the mortgage on their own?

Could your other half live continue to live in comfort when reciving a reduced pension?

What about if you or your other half receive an annuity or company pension  - when the pension annuity owner goes, so does the annuity; does the pension plan include a widows benefit?  Many do not.  That's income suddenly not available to the survivor.

Do you really have sufficient savings to allow the person left behind to pay all the bills on their own? What if you own child was to die leaving you with grandchildren to look after?

These are just some of the reasons why retirees should still get life insurance - if you want to know how much it will cover - get a life insurance quote here.  If you are worried about simple term life insurance being money for nothing, you might also consider whole of  life insurance or endowment policy - which builds up value.

Remember that the proceeds from your life insurance can be paid out quickly, sometimes before the probate goes through depending on how you set it up - so the funds can be available to pay off bills, loans and funeral expenses.
